Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond of Greensburg, daughter of the late Johnny Brown and Corine McCarol Brown, was born on Thursday, March 3, 1955 in Adair County, and departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was 65 years, 3 months, and 20 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Taylor’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
She united in marriage to Joseph Alton Bennett on October 9, 1970 who preceded her in death on February 14, 1999. She later united in marriage to Gwen Hammond who survives.
Survivors include; a daughter Crystal Bennett of Greensburg; three grandchildren Joseph Wyatt Bennett, Brittany Nicole Bennett, and Jonus Breyden Bennett all of Hodgenville; a brother Kenneth Brown of Greensburg; a sister Libby Milby of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by; two sons Joseph Allen Bennett, and Larry Douglas Bennett; and a brother Stanley Brown on May 10, 2020.
Graveside services for Virginia Gail Bennett Hammond were held at Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Bell Cemetery. Chris Clark officiated.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bell Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
