James Stotts

James Tilford Stotts, 82, of Columbia died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his residence.  Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn Bragg Stotts and husband of the late Pauline Burton Stotts.

He is survived by a daughter, Darla (Jan) Stotts of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; one son, Jon (Kristen) Stotts of Louisville; one grandson, Jon (Francis) Stotts, Jr. of Cape Coral, Fl; two great granddaughters of Cape Coral, Fl.; two sisters, Delores Daymude of Corpus Christi, Texas and Carol Lombard-Huggins of San Antonio, Texas; his companion of 22 years, Shirley Burton of Columbia; four step-children, Cindy Burton, Allan (Missie) Trent, Bonnie Trent and Bobbie Sue (Clayton) Byerly; several step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, all of whom loved him and was beside him through everything.

James was a very outspoken and opinionated man, quite stubborn yet very loving and passionate with those closest to him.  He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Stotts chose cremation and wishes to be laid to rest next to his deceased wife, Pauline Burton Stotts at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Ind. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date, and in lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Shirley Burton. Soar Free Daddy “My Way” You Did.
