Greg Smith

Greg Smith, 56, of Campbellsville, died Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home.

He was born July 1, 1962 in Adair County. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald A. Smith.

Greg was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Campbellsville, was a mortgage broker for Wildcat Mortgage and also obtained his real estate license. While serving as a mortgage broker, he helped in opening many other mortgage and title companies in the surrounding area. Greg was involved in many different sporting activities, a drag racing enthusiast, an ultra-competitive card player, an avid golfer, and a University of Kentucky fan.

His survivors include his wife, Tamara Horton Smith of Campbellsville; one son, Elliot G. Smith of Columbia; two daughters, Tia Smith (Brandon) White and Carly Smith Flanagan both of Columbia; two stepchildren, Tyler (Liz) Fox of Lexington and Tatum Fox of Shelbyville; five grandchildren, Evan Smith, Callee White, Ava Flanagan, Emalyn White, and Caylyn White; mother, Rosemary Godby of Bardstown; one sister – Jennifer Mills of Bardstown; step-mother, Betty Smith of Russell Springs; and several other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Watson, Bro. Steve Wagers, and Bro. Drew Hayes officiating.

Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Russell County.

Memorials are requested to be a donation to the donor’s local food pantry in memory of Greg or may be left at the funeral home.

The casket bearers were Robbie Shaw, Chuck Bohannon, Matt Alvey, Trey Shirley, Jonathan Grider, and Zack Charbonneau.
