Margie Lois Rigney, 88, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 2:14 AM at Sun Rise Manor in Hodgenville, KY.
She was born on Jan. 13, 1930 in Adair County, KY, the daughter of the late Finis E. & Gladys M. Cravens Burton.
Margie was the widow of William “Bill” Frank Rigney who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2003, and two sisters Helen Stephens and Maxine Burton.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Alisa Rigney of Elizabethtown; two sons, Bill (Kathy) Rigney, Jr. of Hazard, KY and David (Eva) Rigney of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
Margie was a member of Beulah Chapel Brethren In Christ Church, an Adult Educator and a former employee of The Adair Progress, and Russell County Hospital.
Margie loved her grandchildren, being with her family, friends and traveling.
Visitation was held after 10:00 AM on Thursday with services being held Thursday, July 11, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Clifton Bennett officiating.
Interment followed in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
The family has suggested expressions of sympathy a donation to the Parkinson Foundation.
