Doris Loy Turner
Doris Loy Turner, 83, a resident of Somerset Nursing and Rehab, formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 4:58 P.M. at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY. She was born on March 13, 1935, in Jamestown, KY, the daughter of the late Everett & Pearl Antle Loy.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her brothers; Robert, Houston, Preston, and Jerry Loy, sisters; Noreen Wilson, and June Ramsey
She is survived by one son; Glenn (Leah) Turner of Columbia, KY; One daughter, Mary Ann (Dr. Gregory) Ryan of Somerset, KY; One sister; Myrna Osgood of Louisville, KY; Two Grandchildren Daniel (Brittney) Turner, and Hannah Turner, and her special friend, James Neyman; two great-grandchildren, Blayden Graves, and Noah Paul Turner. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
Mrs. Turner was a member of Jamestown Nazarene Church, a housewife, musician/pianist, and sang with several ladies trios. She was also a Sunday School Teacher, seamstress, clothes designer, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 1:00 PM CT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, with Dr. Gregory A. Ryan officiating. Interment followed in Haven Hill Cemetery with Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in charge of the funeral arrangements. Visitation was held after 6:00 AM CT Wednesday morning.
