Alfred Rodgers

Alfred Rodgers, 72, of Mooresville, KY passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 2, 1945, in Columbia, Kentucky to the late Caleb Powers Rodgers and Mary Frances (Beard) Rodgers Napier.

After moving to Indiana, Mr. Rodgers found work in construction and later worked for General Motors in heat treat, until his retirement in 2007.

A family man, Mr. Rodgers loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them at his home that he built himself. He also enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Bass Masters of Morgan County. Mr. Rodgers was known for his practical jokes and would go to great lengths to pull them off. He also would help anyone who needed help. Often times, someone would only mention a project that they were contemplating and he would show up and take care of it for them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers; Buford, and Donnie Rodgers.

He is survived by wife of 29 years; Dorothy (Gregory) Rodgers, son; John (Wendy) Gwinn, daughter; Lori (Bryan) Fields, brothers; Arvest Rodgers, David Rodgers, sister; Glenda Hines, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday, from 4-8pm at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service and Crematory, in Mooresville, KY. Funeral services were held Friday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial followed the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
