Reed Combest, 88, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, in the Sunrise Health and Rehab in Sunrise, Florida.
He was born November 4, 1929, in Jefferson County, to the late Dewey and Ethel Willis Combest, a member of Sheridan Hill Baptist Church in Hollywood, Florida and a long-time horse trainer.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Kathleen Arnold Combest of Pembroke Pines, Florida; one son, Phil Combest of Miramar, Florida; three sisters, Shorty Hatfield and Lena (Charlie) Schram all of Louisville, LaVerne Dunn of Scottsburg, Indiana; and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick and James T. (Jimmy) Combest and two brothers-in-law, Eddie Hatfield and Paul Dunn.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 13, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Smith officiating.
Burial followed in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
