Walker Bryant, 88, of Columbia, Ky. passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at the Signature Health Care Summit Manor in Columbia, Ky. after several months illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1929, in the Sano Community of Adair County, Ky. the son the late Elzia and Nola Cravens Bryant.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Bryant and Kenneth Bryant and one sister, Louise Tiller, a grandchild, Amy Jo Bryant and one great-grandson, Austin Bryant.
Mr. Bryant is survived by three sons, Larry (Beverly) Bryant of Seymour, Ind.; Jerry Bryant of Indianapolis, Ind., Wayne (Tammy) Bryant of Greensburg, Ky.; two daughters, Debbie Bryant of Greensburg, Ky. and Teresa “Teasie” Bryant of Columbia; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bryant was a member of the Calvary Temple Church, a US Army Korean War veteran. He was a retired welder from Reynolds Metals
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Temple Church 88 New Concord Road, Columbia, Ky. with Bro. Johnny Autry and Bro. Troy Mcwhorter officiating.
Interment will be in the Freedom Cemetery.
The family request visiting after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home and from 6:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visiting after 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the funeral hour at the Calvary Temple Church 88 New Concord Road, Columbia, Ky.
Pallbearers are Brandon Bryant, Chad Bryant, Chris Bryant, Jason Bryant, Wes Bryant, and Jeremy Foster. Honorary Pallbearers are Jennifer Haley, Tasha Rooks, and Bethany Thompson.
