Black History Month Proclaimed in Columbia
The month of February has been proclaimed as “Black History Month,” in the City of Columbia. The proclamation recognizes those persons in our African American community for their part in our city’s heritage.
Councilor Sharon Payne, who is the first female African American, to serve on the Columbia City Council, joined Mayor Pamela Hoots for the signing.
The proclamation recognizes the diversity of the members of our community.
