Adopt a friend

WAIN 93.5 hosted an event lovingly named “Adopt a dog day” last week.
Sugarfoot Farms along with Green River Animal Shelter brought in dogs to be adopted and several other booths were set up offering an array of services for anyone adding a new pet to their family.
Adair County Animal Hospital was set up with information on heartworm prevention, scheduling a check up or to have your new fur baby spayed/neutered, and lots of other pet care services and products. Dr. Peyttyjohn and the team were also available to answer questions and recommend vaccines to help keep your animal safe.
Dr. Cox from Unity Chiropractic also had a booth set up offering you and your dog some relief from the aches and pains that come with life. Cox is not only a human chiropractor but is also certified in canine and equine chiropractic services.
The mother/daughter duo of Karrie Miller and Mary Helm were also on hand. Karrie is an AKC certified groomer and the owner of Doggie Stylz, a boarding and pet grooming business in Jamestown, Kentucky.
Mary is the owner/trainer at 4paws training academy where she teaches basic manners, obedience, house training, crate training and also trains service dogs. She is C.L.A.S.S certified and a CGC evaluator.
Lora Bell had a booth set up as well to promote her business, Lora’s Pet Sitting. Lora has references available and can be contacted for more information at 270-805-8243.
Mayor Pamela Hoots and her sidekick Jakky stopped by to help support and promote the event. Anyone adopting an animal that day also received an autographed picture of Jakky, along with treats and several other goodies.
Donations and support to Green River Animal Shelter and Sugarfoot Farms is always appreciated. For more information on donation or how you can help, please contact Green River Animal Shelter at 270-385-9655 or Sugarfoot Farms at 270-378-4521.
