CAR, MOTORCYCLE CRASH INJURES ONE

A Wayne County man was flown to a Lexington hospital Sunday afternoon after the motorcycle he was operating struck a car on US 127 in Russell County.Larry W. Morrow, 54, of Monticello, was flown by air ambulance to the University of Kentucky Medical Center following the accident, which occurred at 12:20 p.m. Sunday eight miles south of Jamestown.According to the police report, the accident occurred when a 2002 Chevy being operated by Shawnrey Brown, 31, of Yosemite, was traveling south on US 127 and was following a pickup truck. The truck stopped suddenly and signaled the turn, and Brown applied her brakes and steered into the northbound lane to avoid a collision with the truck, and pulled into the path of the 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Morrow, which was traveling north.Morrow’s motorcycle struck the passenger side door of the Brown vehicle then traveled across the southbound lane, ejecting him from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet.Neither Shawnrey Brown or three passengers in her vehicle – 38-year old Anthony Brown, eight-year-old Savannah Brown and three-year-old David Brown – were injured. All occupants in the Brown vehicle were either belted or in child restraints.The accident was investigated by Trooper Jeremy Johnson.
