Lindsey Wilson Volleyball Picked to Finish Third in Mid-South Conference
The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team is projected to finish third in the Mid-South Conference in 2009, according to the conference coaches' preseason poll released on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders received 37 points in the poll to finish behind preseason favorite Georgetown (Ky.) College and Campbellsville (Ky.) University. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team. Georgetown received 48 points and six of the eight first-place votes. Campbellsville received 42 points and the final two first-place votes. University of the Cumberlands followed the Blue Raiders with 29 points. Pikeville College (26 points), MSC newcomer University of Rio Grande (22), St. Catharine College (11) and West Virginia University Tech (9) rounds out the coaches' poll. Lindsey Wilson opens its 2009 season at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 29 against Union (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
