Virginia Nell Yates

VIRGINIA NELL YATES, age 81 years, of Vidalia, Georgia formerly of Columbia, Ky passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia, Georgia.
She lived in Vidalia for the past twelve years. She was a member of the Smith Street Baptist Church and an avid bird watcher. She was a former employee of the Bank of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Charles Yates on April 27, 1987.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Lewis and her husband Gerald of Vidalia, Georgia; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Yates and his wife Lynn of Tallahassee, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Dave Cohn of Palm Harbor, FL; one grand-daughter, Jodie Williams and her husband Greg; one great- granddaughter, Abby Williams of Covington, GA. Several nieces, nephews and host of relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia, Georgia with Rev. Chris Sheffield officiating.
Interment at a later date in the Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia, KY.
