Ralph James Compton

Ralph James Compton, age 85 of 120 Independence Ridge Road, Breeding, KY (the Breeding Community) passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his home.
He was born in the Leatherwood Community of Adair County on July 3, 1924.
He was the son of the late James Robert and Josie Coomer Compton of Adair Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Emma Smith Compton in March of 2009; a sister, Maxine Gilley; a brother, Ruel Compton and two infant siblings.
He is survived by two sisters, Martha Lacy of Breeding, KY, Marcella Wagner of Glasgow, KY; two brothers, Bee Compton of Glasgow, KY, Billy Compton of Louisville, KY. Several nieces and nephews and friends also survive.
Mr. Compton was a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church and a retired farmer.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Woodie and John Botts officiating.
Interment in the Leatherwood Cemetery in Adair Co., Kentucky.
The family request visiting after 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
