EMERGENCY FUNDS WILL COVER COST OF SAFETY REVISIONS TO LOCAL ROAD

Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Friday that action is being taken to make an emergency upgrade to an Adair County Highway.

Emergency funds totaling $16,200 have been authorized to Adair County for curve revisions to Ray Williams Road from .100 mile north of KY 76, north to .05 mile, for a total distance of .0505 mile.

“This project is just one example of the cabinet’s commitment to recognizing a problem and taking action for a solution,” said Secretary Bill Nighbert. “These emergency funds are being used to improve safety and mobility in Adair County and will reflect our commitment to the traveling public. Kentucky’s motorists can rest assured they are driving on safe, reliable roads.”

A check will be issued directly to Adair County, who will be responsible for all phases of the project.
