GLENSFORK MAN KILLED IN CASEY ACCIDENT

A well-known Glensfork resident was killed in a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon near Liberty in Casey County.

Sixty-three-year-old Jimmy Dale Bledsoe was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 3:15 p.m. Friday, by the Casey County Coroner.

According to the Kentucky State Police, the accident occurred one-half mile west of Liberty on KY 70. Bledsoe, operating a 1998 Dodge truck, was westbound when he lost control on the wet roadway and the truck struck a guardrail and overturned.

Obituary for Jimmy Dale Bledsoe

Jimmy Dale Bledsoe, 63, of 215 Yellow Hammer Road, Columbia (the Glensfork community), died suddenly Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Casey County.

He was the son of the late Dennis and Dollie Ruth Collins Bledsoe of Adair County.

Mr. Bledsoe is survived by his wife, Sharon Antle Bledsoe of Glensfork; two daughters - Bridget Maupin and her husband Gary of Glensfork, and Stacy Loy and her husband John of Jamestown; two sisters - Wanda Whicker and Linda Coffey, both of Russell Springs; four grandchildren - Luke and Blake Maupin and Lizzie and Sarah Loy; his mother-in-law, Christine Antle of Jamestown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Bledsoe was a member of the Glensfork Church of the Nazarene, and was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he was a soil technician. He was also a member of the Adair County Cattlemen’s Association.

The funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 30, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Damron and Rev. Charles Tone officiating.

Interment was in the Ragan Cemetery in Russell County.

Pallbearers were Tony Aaron, Logan Antle, John Ballou, Barrett Blakey, Larry Bryant, Joe Gosser, Phillip Hadley, Ken Hill and Jamie McQueary.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Glensfork Church of the Nazarene Building Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
