One INJURED IN CRASH

A Taylor County man was injured in a Saturday afternoon accident on Greensburg Street, and was later charged with DUI in connection with the accident.
Russell Heath, 74, of Campbellsville, was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by the Adair County EMS following the accident, which occurred at 12:20 p.m. Saturday on Greensburg Street near the junction of Rice Drive.
According to the police report, Heath was traveling north on Greensburg Street in a 2007 Saturn SUV when he failed to negotiate a sharp curve, left the roadway, traveled into a yard and struck a tree.
Heath was cited for DUI following the accident, which was investigated by Columbia Police Officer Kevin Atwood.
One injured in Thursday crash on Russell Road
An Adair County woman was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital by the Adair County EMS following a two-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon on Russell Road.
Gladys Jessee, 77, of Columbia was transported to the hospital following the collision, which occurred at 1:26 p.m. at the junction of Russell Road and Wright Drive.
According to the police report, Jessee, operating a 2005 Toyota Camry, was attempting to pull onto Russell Road from Wright Drive when she pulled into the path of a 1995 Chevy pickup being operated by Christopher Popplewell, 31, of Columbia, who was traveling west on Russell Road.
Popplewell was not injured in the accident, which was investigated by CPD Officer Kevin Atwood.
