COUPLE ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES
An Adair County couple were arrested for manufacturing methamphetamine and other charges following the execution of a search warrant by the Adair County Sheriff's Department at a residence on KY 900 Sunday. The search warrant was executed at a residence at 1646 Highway 900 in the Glensfork community after Deputy Sheriff Bruce McCloud discovered an active methamphetamine lab at that location. Casey Collins, 26, and 29-year-old Jana Tuel were both arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine-first offense, possession of a controlled substance and fourth degree endangerment to a child. Both subjects were lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on $50,000 cash bonds. The Kentucky State Police Meth HazMat team was called to the scene to clean up the lab. Deputy McCloud was also assisted by Sheriff Ralph Curry and Deputy Aaron Rainwater. Russell man arrested for local burglary A Russell County man was arrested Saturday in connection with a burglary that occurred early Friday morning in Adair County. Twenty-nine-year-old Mike Shemwell was arrested and charged with two counts of receiving stolen property over $500. The charged stemmed from an investigation conducted by Adair County Chief Deputy Sheriff Bruce McCloud into a burglary that occurred early Friday at 214 Hutchison-Loy Road in which approximately $2,000 worth of tools were taken. The tools were found in three separate locations - two in Adair and one in Russell County. All items taken were recovered by Deputy McCloud and returned to the owner. The arrest was made by Deputy McCloud, who is continuing the investigation into the theft.
