Adair MAN SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPE
An Adair County man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on a rape charge Tuesday in Adair Circuit Court. Judge James Weddle formally sentenced Randy Pyles to the 10-year sentence after Pyles entered a guilty plea to a charge of rape first degree. According to court documents, the incident for which Pyles was charged occurred in January or February 2007, and involved a female less than 12 years of age. In the only other formal sentencing carried out in court on Tuesday, Michael Damaschke received a total of six years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony and several misdemeanor charges. Damaschke received a five-year sentence for assault third degree, and a one-year sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felony, with the sentences to be served consecutively for a total of six years. Damaschke received 12-month sentences for misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, with the sentences to be served concurrently with the felony sentences.
