KNIFLEY MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT FIRST

A Knifley man was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with assault first degree after stabbing another man during an altercation.
Van Herron, 60, of Robinson Ridge Road, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Saturday on Hovious Ridge Road on the assault charge and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
According to the police report, Herron and Jeff Greer were involved in an altercation when Herron allegedly stabbed Greer in the left arm, wrist and hand.
Greer was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital and later transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital.
The arrest was made by Adair County Deputy Sheriff Bruce McCloud.
