Treatment Causes Oil To Flow In Glensfork

On May 18, Petrotech Resources drilled in a Knox formation well at a depth of 1,520 feet on the Billy Fletcher lease in the Glensfork community.
The first two shows were treated with acid, and the well was put on the pump on May 26, and it began producing four barrels of oil per day.
However, Petrotech Resources owner John Buress and his land man, Donnie Clark, felt there was more oil in the hole, so it was decided to do more work on the well.
Bryan Pickett Well Service was called in, and Pickett and his crew set up and pulled everything out of the hole.
"We then ran a camera down the hole, and discovered around 56 points of entry (where oil was seeping in)," Pickett explained. "Travis Coomer Well Service then came in and treated two breaks with acid, at 724 and 750 feet."
Pickett said they let the well set for 30 minutes, then opened the well up to let the treatment come back out. The acid started coming out, then a little water, then oil started flowing. And, continued to flow.
"The oil started flowing, and we had to hurry to get a line run to the tank," Pickett explained.
Oil continued to flow from the well, and according to Donnie Clark, 330 barrels of oil flowed into the tanks in a matter of 30 hours.
"It was pretty unbelievable," Clark noted. "Some wells will flow a little after they've been treated, but not like this."
After the oil stopped flowing, Pickett and his crew went back into the hole, did a little swabbing, and the oil started flowing again, this time for eight hours.
They were finally able to get their rig off the hole and put it back on pump Friday, and the results have been very good.
"Right now, its making 84 barrels a day," John Buress said. "It would do more if we'd turn it up (increase the pump speed) but we're going to leave it there or many lower it a little bit.
"We felt like there was a good pool of oil there, and obviously the acid reached out and got into something," he continued.
Buress said that between his company and Jimmy Reliford Drilling Co. around 12 holes have been drilled in the Glensfork area, and eight are on pump. A couple of other wells have been treated and their production increased, but nothing as dramatic as the Fletcher #3 well.
Both Buress and Clark say they feel there is a lot of oil in Glensfork, and they're going to continue to try to find it.
"We're excited, and we're going to keep drilling," Clark noted.
